American Travels, week 3 part two

Day nineteen, Tuesday 14th of August

Out to lunch

Billy had to go into work today so I joined him at the office as it gave me a great opportunity to start writing my travelblog. I was fortunate to meet a lot of his coworkers who were all extremely friendly and happy to provide us with tips on where to go for a great meal or a daytrip. Steve and Bob joined us for lunch at Cosy Thai, and again the food there was amazing! Hmm I'm going to miss thai food when I'm home.

sunshine

Back at the office I saw that Sunshine was finally playing in State College so I forced Billy to go see it with me. After dinner and some deliciously evil pie at the Deli we drove over to the cinema and watched Sunshine. Again we had the whole theater for ourselves (that's twice now with this movie... am I the only one who loves it??). Well I guess Billy liked it too.

Day twenty, Wednesday 15th of August

green bowl goodness

Back into the office our lunchgroup seemed to get bigger and bigger, too big even to be seated at one table as we hooked up with Ann and she brought her friends too. Joining us today were Steve, Bob and Jennifer. Lunch today was at the amazing Green Bowl, a firm favorite of many and rightly so. It's a wok restaurant where you pick your own ingrediants and the expert chefs cook it for you on the spot. Okay so it's really for people with big appetites, but then again everything's fresh and you can choose just how 'heavy' you make it. Of course I filled my bowl to the brim. I don't remember what we did that evening, but I'm pretty sure it involved Dr. Who.

Day twentyone, Thursday 16th of August

the old south

Last day at the office. Seemingly our spree of lunchappointments had decimated everyone's bankaccount so today it was just Billy and Steve and me. We decided to try out a restaurant called Spatz, considered to be one of the best restaurants in State College. It's a New Orleans styled restaurant with a beautifully decorated interior that almost makes you feel you were in Louisiana (as far as I can tell). Fortunately the food is just as good as you would expect. Everything from the appetisers, which were enough to constitute a full meal for some, to the delicious homemade breadpudding that tasted as good as my own mother used to make. This was probably the best lunch meal I've ever had. I was so in awe of this that I volunteered to pick up the check.

city lights

By now I had almost got my blog up to date, so I decided not to stay in the office but walk around town for a bit. I had seen a nice little record store that I wanted to check out. It's called the City Lights records, city lights is awesome, even if they dont have what you want the owner will order the cd for no extra cost and it will be there usually within 2 days max. I ended up buying The soundtrack to The Matrix revolutions and scouting some cd's to give to Billy. The evening was spent planning our trip the next day to... Hershey Park!
